Almost Chameleon

Not quite Asian enough, but not quite white enough.

For many transracial Chinese adoptees brought into primarily white, all-American suburban families, that thought has been ever-present as we navigate through the world. At least 85,000 children have been brought halfway across the world to the United States because of China's one-child policy.

This project seeks to explore what home is — beyond the place where we were born and where we were brought up. It seeks to explore what identity is — beyond what we look like and what our families look like. It seeks to understand where we fit into the American story.

This is an ongoing project.
