Boston Strong, 10 Years On

Boston Marathon live blog coverage - The New York Times

On April 17, 2023, about 30,000 runners came from around the world to participate in the 127th Boston Marathon. It had been ten years since the double bombing that forever changed the meaning of the marathon's finish line on Boylston Street.

I covered the start line in Hopkinton, halfway mark and Wellesley College's "Scream Tunnel" in Wellesley and Heartbreak Hill in Newton, searching for features with the goal to make the audience feel like they were right alongside the 26.2-mile route, too.

I worked closely with reporter Lauren McCarthy on the ground and immediately sent photos that complimented her reporting to remote editors for the live blog.
